Award Submission Date Reminders

As we’ve said probably a dozen times, the best way to make sure you are on time for something is to plan to be early. FIRST Robotics Competition Award submissions are great examples of things for which you’ll want to be on time.

As a reminder, the deadlines are below. Please consider setting earlier internal team deadlines, so you aren’t sweating it out last minute hoping you hit the button in time.

• Chairman’s Award - Thursday, February 8, 2018, 3 PM Eastern Time

• Woodie Flowers Award - Thursday, February 8, 2018, 3 PM Eastern Time

• Dean’s List Award - Thursday, February 15, 2018, 3 PM Eastern Time

• Entrepreneurship Award - Thursday, February 15, 2018, 3 PM Eastern Time

Build Season Weather

This build season, you are guaranteed to have weather at your build site. Your weather may be good, or your weather may be bad, but weather you shall have.

If your weather has been bad in the past, leading to school closings and inability to work on your robot, it will likely happen again. Even if your school has never been closed during build season for bad weather, you may want to consider, in advance, how you would handle a disruption if it occurred. Disruptions affecting your schedule can occur in many forms, but please keep in mind, regardless of the challenges your team is facing, Stop Build Day for the 2018 season will be Tuesday, February 20^th, 11:59 PM Eastern Time for all.
