Pricing & Payment - FIRST LEGO League Challenge

The fees on this page are for teams in the U.S. and Canada.  Fees outside the U.S. and Canada are set by our regional partners and may vary.  If you are from outside the U.S. and Canada, please visit our Global Website www.firstlegoleague.org to connect with your regional partner.


What does the registration fee get my team?

Team Registration for FIRST LEGO League Challenge for the 2024-2025 season is $250 and includes:

  • Official FIRST LEGO League Challenge team number
  • Ability to purchase the SUBMERGED Challenge Set ($95) through the FIRST Dashboard
  • Printed/Digital Team Meeting Guide, Robot Game Rulebooks (2), and student Engineering Notebooks (2) (additional Engineering Notebooks available to purchase while supplies last)
  • FIRST Thinkscape access to digital guidebooks, getting started materials, and more
  • Access to team roster to register coaches and participants
  • Ability to register for FIRST LEGO League Challenge events (varies by region)

Team Registration fee does not include shipping and handling, the Challenge Set, registration to FIRST LEGO League Challenge events, nor guarantees that events are available in your area.  FIRST Program Delivery Partners run FIRST LEGO League Challenge events which may include physical, remote, or a combination of physical and remote elements.  Partners may charge an additional fee to participate in their events, and those fees are set and collected by the Partner.

Teams need the LEGO Education SPIKE Prime Set to participate in FIRST LEGO League Challenge*. If you need to purchase a reusable Robot Set, you have the option to purchase it through our team registration site after you have paid the team registration fee.

*Other LEGO Education sets such as MINDSTORMS and Robot Inventor are also allowed. 

**Additional Engineering Notebooks are optional and not required to purchase. Teams can access the digital version via the "Access Thinkscape" button on the dashboard.

All registration fees are non-refundable.

Payment Terms


Shipping Information:

Once registration and materials are purchased, please allow 7-10 business days for the delivery to reach its destination. LEGO Education materials are shipped via UPS and printed materials are shipped via FedEx. Depending on the amount of product ordered, you will receive at least two emails notifying you that the product has shipped. Instructions to locate your tracking numbers will be found in the email communication.

In FIRST LEGO League Explore, every team and team member’s achievements are celebrated!

Official FIRST LEGO League Explore Festivals are held by our partners around the world. Every team is recognized at a Festival for the work they have completed. Some partners opt to give each team a named award as well, though this is not required.

Amazing Movement Award- For corporating a unique movement into a team’s design.

Gracious Professionalism Award- For exemplifying gracious professionalism during the event. This team was thoughtful, kind, and showed respect for others.

Against All Odds Award- For overcoming incredible odds of an unforeseen nature. This team was able to improvise, adapt, and recover out of sheer determination.

Effort and Learning Award- For a strong effort and a willingness to learn and try new things. This team prepared for success.

Complexity and Decoration Award- For beautiful model construction, with great decorative touches.

Most Explosive Award- For explosive ideas, eye-catching team poster, and explosive team energy.

Robust Design Award- The team whose understanding and application of construction knowledge allowed them to produce the most solid and sturdiest design.

Construction Innovation Award- For demonstrating an ability to think creatively. This team created excellent designs and built quality components without any instructions or outside assistance.

Team Spirit Award- For a fun team environment, a positive attitude, and constant team support and cheering.

Teamwork Award- For hard work on teamwork. Success as a team came first. Always first to a team solution, this team knows that Together Everyone Achieves More.

Inquiring Minds- For interest in science and enjoyment of the building process. Always looking to find a solution, this team kept morale up while creating smart solutions.

Start a FIRST Tech Challenge Team

 

FIRST Tech Challenge teams design and build a robot using a reusable kit of parts and compete within a common set of game rules to play an exciting field game and complete the specific season challenge. The robot game changes every season and is always a blast!

Student and adult team members are encouraged to bring any skills they already have, like programming, electronics, metalworking, graphic design, web creation, public speaking, videography, and many more. FIRST Tech Challenge welcomes every student, with or without special skills.
