Robert M. Tuttle

Bob Tuttle is a General Partner of 1848 Associates, a commercial real estate development entity. 1848 Associates specializes in rehabilitating and managing office buildings.
Tuttle previously served as the Executive Vice President of DEKA Research & Development Corporation. DEKA provides R&D services for major corporate clients, primarily related to medical products. In related activities, Bob also was the Vice Chairman of Segway, which developed a revolutionary personal transporter, and was the President of Teletrol Systems Inc., which commercialized building management systems.
Much of Tuttle’s early career was in the aerospace field. For over ten years, Bob was the Chairman & CEO of Enstrom Helicopter Corporation, a developer and manufacturer of light helicopters for commercial and military applications. Prior to that, Tuttle held several executive positions for Raytheon Company’s Missile Group, including Deputy Group General Manager and Group Controller/CFO. The Missile Group’s products included the Patriot, Hawk, Sparrow, AMRAAM, Sidewinder, and Maverick Systems. He started his career as an aerospace engineer with Grumman Aerospace, working on the F-14.
Tuttle earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Cornell University and an MBA in finance, also from Cornell. He has been a volunteer for FIRST for over 25 years, including serving two stints on a volunteer basis as the Interim FIRST President. His Board roles have included 8 years as Co-Chair and 16 years as Treasurer.
