Pool Noodles

Yes, you will need pool noodles to construct bumpers for the 2020 FIRST Robotics Competition Season! Just as in seasons prior, pool noodles must be approximately 2.5 inches in diameter and round, hexagonal, or petal-shaped in cross-section. They may be either solid or hollow. However, all pool noodles used on a single set of bumpers must be of the same construction. So, for example, you can’t use a round noodle on the lower portion of your bumper and a petal noodle in the upper portion. Good luck noodle hunting!

Event Preferences and an Overview Document

Event Preferences are open, and the system seems to be running smoothly. Please note the deadline for getting your preference in is Noon Eastern Time on Thursday, September 26. After this deadline, we won’t be accepting event preferences, so be sure to get those in on time, or even better, get them in early! Shortly after the system opened yesterday, we already had more than 300 teams submit. It’s great to see teams getting this task out of the way, so they don’t have to worry about it, and so FIRST Team Support doesn’t have to deliver the sad news to teams trying to submit after the deadline that they missed the boat.
