F I R S T ® A L U M N I H A N D B O O K Who is eligible for a FIRST Scholarship? High school students who have participated or are participating on high-school-level FIRST Robotics Competition and/or FIRST Tech Challenge teams can apply for FIRST Scholarships. Most FIRST Scholarship Providers request applications during a student’s senior year, but there are a few scholarships available to juniors or college students. Each scholarship may also have other eligibility requirements as set by the provider. Eligibility requirements are available at firstinspires.org/scholarships . What if there aren’t any FIRST Scholarships for me? Your FIRST experience is still incredibly valuable when applying for non- FIRST -specific scholarship opportunities. You have hundreds (or maybe even thousands!) of hours put into FIRST . You’ve gained all kinds of skills and have stories to answer any essay question thrown at you. Ask your chosen school what internal scholarship opportunities you may be eligible for. Look for scholarships in your community or through professional associations in related fields. Think about the organizations you or your family are engaged with and explore opportunities for scholarships that they may provide.
